Which visa do Indian visitors need for CMTS 2027 Toronto?
Indian passport holders travelling to Canada need a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa). Apply online through IRCC; an eTA does not cover Indian passport holders (except certain travellers who hold a valid Canadian visa, or a valid US visa and arrive by air). Biometrics are required and processing times vary, so apply early.

Why Indian businesses should attend
Meet Canadian manufacturers, engineers and distributors face-to-face, demonstrate machines and tooling, and open distribution conversations for the North American market.
CMTS also gives Indian manufacturing-technology businesses a read on Canadian demand — automation, additive manufacturing, reshoring and the technology used across automotive and aerospace supply chains.
What visitors can explore
- Cutting, punching & forming: Laser, punching, shearing, bending and forming machines.
- Joining & welding: Welding, fastening, riveting and joining technology.
- Tube & profile processing: Tube bending, cutting and profile-working equipment.
- Automation, tooling & software: Handling, tooling, quality assurance and production software.
Product groups reflect the show’s published profile and can change between editions. Check the official website for the confirmed hall plan and exhibitor directory.
Canada Visitor Visa (TRV) for Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show 2027
Canada requires Indian passport holders to obtain a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa). An eTA is only for visa-exempt nationalities and does not cover Indian passport holders, except certain travellers who hold a valid Canadian visa, or a valid US non-immigrant visa and arrive by air. Apply online through IRCC; biometrics are required and processing times vary, so apply early.
Commonly required documents
- Passport valid for the period of the trip
- Completed application and a recent photograph
- Biometrics (fingerprints and photo)
- Confirmed itinerary and proof of funds
- Indian employer’s covering letter and approved leave
- Invitation letter from the organiser or a Canadian business partner; event registration
Important
An invitation letter and expo registration support an application but do not guarantee approval, and processing times are not fixed. The final decision rests with the Canadian authorities (IRCC).
How to register
- Register online. Register as a trade visitor on the official CMTS website with your professional and company details, and save your confirmation or e-badge.
- Request a letter for your visa file. Where the organiser offers a visa-support or invitation-letter service for registered visitors, request it early and keep it with your application documents.
- Carry business identification. Bring your passport, registration confirmation, an employer covering letter and business cards to the venue.
