If you’re an Indian business professional, investor, or entrepreneur planning to visit Denmark for meetings, conferences, or trade events, you’ll need a Denmark Business Visa (Schengen – Business Category).
This visa allows short-term entry to attend professional or commercial activities, build business relations, or explore Danish trade opportunities. Employment or paid work is not permitted under this visa.

Document Checklist

Before applying, ensure all documents are complete, clear, and correctly signed.

Requirement Details

Passport

Must be original and valid for at least 6 months beyond stay; have 2 blank pages; undamaged. Include old passport if available.

Photographs

Two recent color photos (35x45 mm, white background, matte finish, neutral expression). No glasses or headgear (except for religious reasons).

Visa Application Form

Complete the Schengen visa application form online via https://applyvisa.um.dk/ and print the receipt.

Covering Letter from Employer

Issued on company letterhead with seal/signature. Must mention travel purpose, duration, and financial responsibility (self/company).

Invitation Letter from Danish Company

Provided by host company in Denmark with company seal, signature, contact details, and purpose of visit. Addressed to the Royal Danish Embassy or Consulate.

Travel Itinerary & Flight Bookings

Round-trip confirmed or tentative flight bookings showing entry and exit from the Schengen area.

Travel Insurance

Valid for the full Schengen area with minimum €30,000 coverage for medical emergencies. Must cover entire travel duration.

Proof of Accommodation

Hotel booking confirmation or invitation from Danish host with full address and stay dates.

Bank Statement

Original, stamped, and signed bank statement for the last 6 months. Must reflect sufficient balance to cover trip expenses.

Income Tax Returns (ITR)

ITR-V for the last 3 years, showing stable financial history.

Salary Slips / Proof of Income

Latest 3 months’ salary slips with company name and designation.

Company Registration Proof

For self-employed applicants — attach business registration certificate, GST, or Incorporation Certificate.

Sponsorship Letter (if applicable)

Must include applicant and sponsor details, relationship, duration of stay, and financial responsibility. Addressed to the Danish Embassy.

No Objection Certificate (NOC)

Issued by employer or, for dependent women, by spouse/parents. Should specify travel dates and purpose.

Conference or Event Proof (if applicable)

Provide event or exhibition registration or entry passes.

Denmark Visa: Application & Processing Tips

Visa Requirement

Indian citizens need a Schengen Business Visa for Denmark; the process is managed through VFS Global centers.

It is recommended to apply 3 to 4 weeks before the travel date to ensure adequate time for document verification and appointment scheduling.

Standard processing time is 10 to 15 working days, but may extend to 30 days during peak travel seasons or for checks.

Fill the ApplyVisa form online, pay the fee digitally, schedule biometrics at VFS, and track via VFS tracking.

Financial Stability

You must have enough funds to cover travel, accommodation, and living expenses.

Strong Home Ties

You must show sufficient reasons to return to India, such as employment, business ownership, or family commitments.

Good Character

Applicants must not have any criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) may be requested.

Health Requirements

You must meet the minimum health standards required by Denmark’s authorities.
