Schengen Short-Stay Business Visa (Type C)

Overview

For Indian corporate travelers, Spain is one of the key business destinations in Europe, known for its trade, energy, and tech sectors. Indian professionals attending conferences, exhibitions, or meetings in Spain must apply for a Schengen Business Visa (Type C) before traveling.

This visa permits short-term business visits of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Applications can be submitted through VFS Global and are processed by the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi.

Before applying, ensure all documents are complete, clear, and correctly signed.

Passport (Old & New)

Must be original and valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay period. Copies of all pages (old and new passports) are mandatory.

Photographs

Two color photos (35x45 mm, white background, matte finish, no glasses or smiling). Must cover 80% of face.

Round-Trip Air Ticket

Provide a confirmed or blocked itinerary. Include internal travel bookings if visiting multiple Schengen countries.

Travel Insurance

Must be valid across Schengen Zone with a minimum coverage of €30,000, issued by an authorized insurer.

Cover Letter from Employer/Company

On company letterhead, detailing applicant’s role, visit purpose, duration, and expense sponsor.

Invitation Letter (in Spanish/English)

Must be in Spanish or bilingual, signed, stamped, and addressed to the Embassy. Include travel purpose and sponsorship details.

Bank Statement (6 months)

Original, signed, and sealed by bank. Must show adequate financial capacity.

Income Tax Returns (3 years)

Proof of tax compliance via ITR-V receipts.

PAN Card Copy

Required for signature verification and identity proof.

Proof of Accommodation

Confirmed hotel bookings or host invitation letter covering full duration of stay.

Salary Slips (3 months)

For employed applicants; should mention company name and designation.

Business License / Company Registration

Mandatory for self-employed applicants to prove business legitimacy.

Sponsorship Letter (if applicable)

Notarized letter stating relationship, financial responsibility, and visit purpose.

Visa Requirement

Indian citizens must obtain a Schengen Business Visa (Type C) to travel to Spain for business meetings or professional events.

You must show sufficient reasons to return to India, such as employment, business ownership, or family commitments.

Good Character

Applicants must not have any criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) may be requested.

Health Requirements

Must have valid travel medical insurance with Schengen coverage.

Avoid booking non-refundable tickets until visa approval.

Ensure invitation letters are translated into Spanish if issued in English only.
