Why Indian businesses should attend
Meet Japanese and regional buyers face-to-face, present products against local quality expectations, and open distribution conversations that are difficult to progress remotely.
FOODEX JAPAN also gives Indian food businesses a detailed view of Asian market requirements — labelling, additives, packaging formats and the growing health-food and plant-based categories.
What visitors can explore
- Ingredients & commodities: Raw and semi-processed food ingredients, spices, grains, oils and additives.
- Processed & packaged food: Ready-to-eat, frozen, dairy, bakery, confectionery and specialty products.
- Beverages: Soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea, water and alcohol-free ranges.
- Food technology & packaging: Processing equipment, cold chain, packaging and food-safety solutions.
Product groups reflect the show’s published profile and can change between editions. Check the official website for the confirmed hall plan and exhibitor directory.
Japan Short-Term Business Visa for FOODEX JAPAN 2027
Japan requires Indian passport holders to obtain a visa before entry. Business visitors attending a trade fair generally apply for a short-term Temporary Visitor visa for business through the Japan Visa Application Centre or the Embassy / Consulate of Japan in India. Japan also operates an eVISA for eligible short-term visitors in some countries — check whether it is available for your application.
Commonly required documents
- Passport valid for the period of stay, with blank pages
- Visa application form and a recent photograph
- Expo registration or invitation confirmation
- Schedule of stay / itinerary in Japan
- Invitation letter or reason-for-stay from a Japanese host or the organiser, where available
- Indian employer’s covering letter
- Proof of funds and employment
Important
An invitation letter and expo registration support an application but do not guarantee approval, and processing times are not fixed. The final decision rests with the Japanese authorities.
How to register
- Register online. Register as a trade visitor on the official FOODEX JAPAN website with your professional and company details, and save your confirmation or e-badge.
- Request a letter for your visa file. Where the organiser offers a visa-support or invitation-letter service for registered visitors, request it early and keep it with your application documents.
- Carry business identification. Bring your passport, registration confirmation, an employer covering letter and business cards to the venue.
