Hungary Business Visa Guide for Indian Corporate Travelers

Everything You Need To Know - Indian Passport Holders

Hungary, located in the heart of Central Europe, is one of the fastest-growing economies in the European Union. With Budapest emerging as a regional hub for technology, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and automotive industries, business ties between India and Hungary have grown significantly. Indian companies now frequently send delegates for trade fairs, supplier meetings, and project collaborations.

Indian citizens visiting Hungary for business purposes must apply for a Hungary Business Visa, which is part of the Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) category. This visa allows entry into Hungary and other Schengen member countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

BTW Visa Services assists Indian corporate travelers with end-to-end Schengen visa filing — including document preparation, appointment booking through VFS, and embassy coordination — ensuring a smooth, professional, and compliant visa experience.

Who Needs a Business Visa?

All Indian nationals traveling to Hungary for short-term professional or business engagements — including client meetings, trade conferences, training, or exhibitions — must apply for a Hungary Business Visa (Type C).

This visa allows travel within the Schengen zone for up to 90 days in a 180-day period but does not permit employment or long-term residence.

There is no visa-free entry for Indian citizens to Hungary; even short business visits require prior visa approval.

BTW Visa Tip: Holders of valid multiple-entry Schengen visas issued by other countries may enter Hungary without reapplying — provided Hungary is not the first point of entry restriction country mentioned on that visa.

What Is a Hungary Business Visa?

The Hungary Business Visa is a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) that allows Indian nationals to travel to Hungary and other Schengen countries for official business-related purposes, such as attending meetings, conferences, trade fairs, or professional consultations.

It is issued for both single-entry and multiple-entry purposes, depending on travel frequency and the applicant’s business background. This visa does not allow paid work or long-term employment within Hungary or the Schengen area.

Applications are submitted through VFS Global Hungary Visa Centres across India and are processed by the Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi or Consulate General of Hungary in Mumbai, depending on jurisdiction.

Tips for Smooth Visa Approval

  • Apply early: Apply 5–6 weeks before travel to allow time for Hong Kong Immigration’s background verification.

  • Ensure proper sponsorship: The Hong Kong sponsor form (ID 1003B) must be correctly filled, signed, and stamped by your host company.

  • Maintain document consistency: Ensure company names, passport numbers, and travel dates match across all documents.

  • Include relationship proof: Attach business contracts, email exchanges, or invoices if you’ve previously interacted with the Hong Kong entity.

  • Financial readiness: Maintain sufficient funds in your bank account (₹1.5–2 lakh minimum).

  • Avoid handwritten corrections: All application forms should be typed or neatly printed — errors can cause rejection.

  • Provide clear contact details: Both the Indian and Hong Kong companies must include valid phone numbers and email IDs.

  • Use company email IDs: Letters from Gmail or Yahoo addresses often trigger verification queries from immigration.
