Who Needs a Business Visa?
Indian citizens traveling to Canada for short-term business activities — such as client meetings, trade fairs, conferences, or corporate training — must apply for a Business Visitor Visa.
This visa does not permit paid employment within Canada. If you plan to work or receive income from a Canadian company, you must apply for a work permit instead.
BTW Visa Tip: Always select “Business” as your travel purpose during the online application to avoid incorrect visa categorization.
What Is a Canada Business Visa?
The Canada Business Visa, officially known as the Business Visitor Visa, is a short-term visa under the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) category. It allows foreign nationals — including Indian citizens — to enter Canada for legitimate business activities such as meetings, negotiations, trade exhibitions, or conferences.
Visa Type:
Temporary Resident Visa – Business Visitor
Purpose:
Business meetings, trade fairs, or professional events
Stay Duration:
Up to 6 months per visit
Validity:
Up to 10 years or until passport expiry
Who Can Apply from India?
Indian applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria set by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to qualify for a Canada Business Visa.
Eligibility Requirements:
Hold a valid Indian passport with at least 6 months validity.

Possess a formal invitation letter from a Canadian company or organization.
Demonstrate financial capacity to fund travel, accommodation, and other expenses.
